I don't use the browser on my n800 a lot. Not sure how long it has been broken but when I load the browser I always get "Internal error. Application 'Web' closed."

Is there a way to apt-get the opera package to try to fix this or do i need to re-flash? In a quick look through the app manager I don't see a package for opera. I would rather not re-flash if possible.

Currently using OS 2007.10-7

Does it crash even if you are offline? Try changing your home page... there are web pages that can crash my browser.

Another option is install microb (mozilla-based)

Yes it crashes offline or online and no matter which page i select from the drop down menu. I tried deleting .browser and .opera from my home directory but that hasn't helped. After no other responses I am assuming that since its part of the base install for the device there is no strait forward way to reinstall the browser files without re-flashing. Iv'e used linux for several years and this seems against the standard linux philosophy to me.

It's looking like re-flash time to me. I guess now I have an excuse to update to the latest version O.S.

You have an excuse? You need an excuse to upgrade to the latest version? For one thing, the latest version will give you a bigger choice of browsers.

Well I needed an excuse in that I spent quite a bit of time getting the last version setup the just the way I wanted it. I did flash the new image and it does seem a bit less buggy. Now to get it tricked out.
