Receiving free inbound Land Line calls to Gizmo via GrandCentral. If you are not aware of this option, one can open a free account with www.grandcentral.com then go to Setting after you have log in. There you will find "Add/Edit Number" link select it, you should now see the Gizmo icon on that page if not click on one of the drop down arrows. All you have left to do is put in your Gizmo phone number (you find that in Gizmo it should start with area code 747).

yeah, grand central is neat and all, but you still can't press the number 1 to answer incoming calls on the N800, because of a bug, right?

Or can you now accept incoming calls?
just curious if I am missing something...

Yes I was able to answer by pressing the number 1. It worked for Gizmo 3.0.0.66_debug_N800_armel.deb and for version 2.0.0.56.

Yes I know I misspelled receiving. But I can't seem to change it in the title.

Yeah, I used it a few times. But as of now, there is a huge delay before Gizmo rings via GC, my cellphone/landline almost always rings a good 5-10 seconds earlier. This more or less makes it useless for me to use Gizmo.

I understand but since I prefer to use the N800 to talk rather than hold up a phone to my head, this is very attractive to me. Especially in situations where I'm say doing web work on my laptop and can take a call on the 800. I prefer it to the "speakerphone" option on my cell and don't particularly care for ear pieces.

I think this bug is only in reference to RTComm beta Sip client and gizmo sip settings.

I got my gizmo number in grandcentral, and can use grandcentral dial out tied to gizmo. Thanks, by the way. But how do you press one to recieve calls?

Also, should the built in 'green dot' answer the call or do you need gizmo running? gizmo version 4.0.0 build 95.

I've not quite figured this out either LOL. Using an N800, there is no '1' to press when the call comes in. Perhaps because version 4.0 of Gizmo was intended for the N810?

you can accept the call and then goto the menu, internet call DTMF dialpad and press 1.

I test and it worked. :-)
