For stylus-free operation, I have wanted to be able to both stream internet radio and play mp3 music. Even though I believe I have followed instructions contained in this forum diligently (and I trust with a fair modicum of comprehension), I have not been able to get my Canola installation to locate and play mp3 music -- but it does handle the streaming of internet radio very well. On the other hand, my Kagu installation locates and handles my mp3 music fine (but is not yet apparently capable of handling internet radio streaming). So, for now, I am using both Canola and Kagu for the separate purposes for which they work for me. (Of course the N800's integral Media Player handles both these functions fine, except that I need to use my stylus.) I am shortly going to try using Bluetooth headphones, adapting my N800 to accommodate AD2P per instructions contained elsewhere in this forum, for both purposes. Based on what I have read elsewhere here, I don't expect too much success at getting the Bluetooth headphones to work satisfactorily with wifi internet radio streaming.

Can you describe how you go about adding an internet radio stream to canola? I never use internet radio, but I'd like to figure out how everyone else does it so it can be added to Kagu.

As a matter of fact.... even i never used internet streaming on canola and i was surprised that it could be actually done.
But streaming internet radio via mplayer works pretty well with me but the only downside is that you cant use the n800 for anything else while doing so. And another small niggle is that you cant use the controls on the bluetooth headset to toggle between streams.

But it really is worth. A great addition to my sweet n800!!

Feel free to post your doubts here in regards to streaming radio statiions via bluetooth. I ve done sufficient research .... may be i could be helpful.!!! Maybe!!

Trevarthan: My method is the one that I believe was touched on somewhere on the Canola web site, but Im not certain. Anyway, I begin by the standard way of going into the CanolaConfig web site (shortcut in Extras) and click on the Plugins button. I then tap (with stylus) the IRadio designation. The easist thing to do then, rather than laboriously typing each separate URL into the box, is to go online to SHOUTcast, choose an internet radio site of your choosing (there are hundreds, if not thousands), click on the "tune in" button, which brings up a menu from which you can choose "Copy Link Location." Do this, then go back to Canola and paste the URL you've just copied. You then have to designate a "Category" in another box. I initially had difficulty with this step (which I reported -- complained about! -- elsewhere in this forum) but then simply wrote IRadio as the category, and that worked. I will experiment further with this category matter. I will try classical, jazz, news, etc.

I am looking forward to trying out later today your updated version of Kagu, to see if it'll now locate and play individual mp3 songs which are on my memory cards, but were not burned by me as integral albums. Kagu has so far failed to identify these, but the Media Player does. Kagu, of course, does play my music which I burned as complete albums. (I cannot yet get Canola to play any of my mp3 music.) Thaks for you excellent work -- and achievement. Regards, Jim

Sachin007: I inend shortly to purchase Bluetooth earphones, and may well afterwards take you up on your kind, and interesting, offer.
