UX50's res = 640 x 480

Though a difference of 160 pixels (W), it wouldn't be crucial to me.

Agreed, that's a hard one. But still, it wouldn't push me towards the N800, it's another 400$ device. Plus, as you said yourself, the N900 is (probably) on it's way.

Success!

i'd say you're definitely going to be fine for a while yet in terms of support, the community base and maemo project for the N800 are both really really strong, any problems or queeries you might have will generally get answered quite quickly if you're in the right place, like here!

in terms of new devices, it's a tough decision to make, here have been rumours of an N810, but nothing confirmed, it's just the nature of the beast sometimes, there's always going to be upgrades...

Actually, those numbers aren't correct for either device:

UX-50 = 480x320
N800 = 800x480

You may be confusing the Clie PEG UX50 with Sony's ultramobile devices, which are larger.

This is a considerable difference, especially given that the UX50's screen is extremely small for it's size.

Well I bit the bullet and ordered the N800 so you all should get used to me asking a lot of (possibly stupid) questions

I forgot to thank everyone for your opinions! Thanks!
