edit prefs.js to insert the two lines
save prefs.js
open microb, look at about:config to make sure the two directives have been recognized correctly

Again, I apologize for my obtuseness, but I am new to linux, as well as this phone...I used to use litestep...and used rainmeter for a bit, but besides those two customizable formats, my knowledge of how to navigate is very limited, almost childlike.

What is in /home/user/.mozilla/microb ?
prefs.js?

if so...how do i navigate to that place....in terminal? is that right?
and if that is the correct course of action to take...do i then do
$ killall browser
$ find . -name prefs.js
again?

and will the next step be obvious? again, excuse my ignorance.

Thanks in advance.

Open /home/user/.mozilla/microb/prefs.js anyway you prefer personally im using WinSCP.
Close ALL browser windows or to be sure "killall browser" in terminal.
Now add fallowing lines to the pref file:
user_pref("network.protocol-handler.warn-external.sip", false);
user_pref("network.protocol-handler.warn-external.tel", false);

Now reboot without starting the browser and everything should work just fine.

This worked splendidly for me since I have winSCP. Easy-Breezy.
But for those who don't have something like that...what would be the best way to do it strait from the phone?

I am curious. You say it didn't work for you...Do you mean that like myself, you were unable to enter in new values after going to about:config in the address bar of microb?

Or that you found a way to add values from that place, and despite that, you were unsuccessful?

If you havent been able to add values, try antezz's recomendation which worked for me, either by using winSCP, navigating to prefs.js, and editing on your pc, or using an editor like leafpad, like he just mentioned.

oops... my bad, yeah you can't edit them via microb it seems. Weird, I thought I recalled doing that. No worries, just do as the guys above suggest and edit the prefs.js file

Again, sorry. Too many platforms!

Hi, I can't make this work. This might be because I am no more than a end user. Here is the steps I have taken to attempt to resolve having my default browser link the phone numbers to my phone app.

1.) download Leafpad from maemo.org
2.) open terminal x and killall browsers. It said that no processes killed, but did not have a browser open anyways.
3.) open leafpad
4.) typed:
user_pref("network.protocol-handler.warn-external.sip", false);
user_pref("network.protocol-handler.warn-external.tel", false);
5.) attempted to save to
/home/user/.mozilla/microb/prefs.js
6.) Leafpad says
Field unable to contain /
7.) removed the first / before home but leafpad said the same as it did in step 6

I got stuck at step 6, but still would have gotten stuck at the next step. The step where i would have to open the .js file in terminal x. Please tell me how I would do this. What am I doing wrong? and please put it in a step by step process.

Thanks for any help

KYLe

PS if I use the user interface to save a file it gives me no folder for home
