Has ANYONE here actually been able to compile this thing?

On my freshly-installed-and-configured Scratchbox when I try to compile the tinymail app it fails every time with a "you need to install gnome-common" error even though gnome-common is already installed!
Following the build instructions straight out of the SVN docs for tinymail.
Maemo
-----

= Outside scratchbox =

cd /scratchbox/users/$USER/home/$USER/
svn co https://svn.tinymail.org/svn/tinymail

= Inside an ARMEL scratchbox =

cd tinymail/trunk
./autogen.sh --prefix=/opt/tinymail-maemo --with-platform=maemo
make && make install

Now simply copy /opt/tinymail-maemo to the device
Has anyone gotten tinymail - and then modest - to build correctly or am I a complete ***** and doing something wrong?

They do warn it's rough and not that well documented. Is there any reason you don't want to use Claws-mail? It's great, even with only meager html e-mail support. It is certainly "light" eniugh to run well on my n800.

I already use the crap out of Claws-mail 3.0 I just want to see what the "future" firmware will be using for an email client.
They show the damn thing running in Xephyr on Scratchbox so it should frickin' compile properly and run for "the rest of us".
The tinymail folks already threw in their basic instructions for compiling it for Maemo but it seems they aren't working or my environment isn't setup correctly for that particular build.
Odd....I can compile pretty much everything else.
