Please point me to the thread if this has been answered, but I can't find it.

My Think Outside Stowaway keyboard pairs with my Nokia 800, and it works great. However, once I fold it and it turns off, the only way I can reestablish the connection is to go back to the control panel, find the keyboard, go to edit, and click connect. I also have to click Cntrl/FN/FN which according to the keyboard documentation I should not have to do.

I thought that once the device was paired this should happen automatically. There is a security code set, and the N800 sees the device, but it requires the whole sequence to work again. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

Hmmm....I have the exact same setup you do (N800 + TOSK) and I've never run into this problem.

Like iball, I have a N800 and I use the ThinkOutside Stowaway Keyboard with mine. I've never had to re-pair the TOSK with mine despite many foldings.

I did have the same issue as what you're describing when I was using it with an older Palm. I don't recall what the issue was and it might have gone away on its own. It wasn't a lingering problem.

Have you tried changing the batteries in your keyboard? It might be losing the security key when it gets turned off. Aside from that, I can't think of what else it might be.

When you open the keyboard does it just automatically pair or is there something you have to press to get it to happen?

I changed the batteries and I went through the whole repairing process. Now it seems to be working.

Thanks.

Excellent.

So, to sum this up: make sure you have good batteries in your bluetooth keyboard.

Works fine for me too. The only issue I have is that I don't usually keep BT on on the N800, and with an external device you're bitten by that mis-feature where you have to go down the control panel to re-enable BT (ideally the icon should stay in the status bar and it should have an 'enable' option). This isn't a problem for when the N800 is the connecting part (as in BT DUN), as it enables BT automatically. For keyboards it's another story.

Just for clarification for others who may buy the keyboard and read this thread. Originally I was using the batteries that came in the package. There's no telling how old they might have been. Putting in new batteries, which I always keep on hand, did the trick.
