Pressure sensitivity & palm rejection on iPad's capacitive multitouch screen.
(Well technically they identify the shape of the contact area to react only to the 'stylus' and measure it to determine the 'pressure')

1. No Flash is a plus, not a minus (in my humple opinion). Flash cannot be called open standard at all.
2. Closed OS is a minus for a developer, for anybody who wants a real computer. But for somebody who wants a working phone/toy/book-reader, without any hacks and mods, closed OS is better: it guards against viruses and other problems. That's why well-polished Apple products are popular: they work as intended, are harmonious, and don't require DIY skills.
3. I hope that the people who use iPad and iPhone will complain to websites: please, give Flash-free version of the page --- while the people who use non-Apple products will develop their own websites/applications against Flash (like Firefox for mobile, which introduces better standards support).

Heh.
I agree that Flash is yet another walled garden (though one with many doors connecting it to different platforms and they do give free maps to the curators), and we'd be better off if there's an open standard that can replace it.
My main problem with Apple vs Flash debacle is that Jobs is making use of his control over the iOS platform to censor what's in/out of his ecosystem. Good thing that this time it's somewhat in alignment with our interests. But I would still prefer if a new standard dukes it out with Flash in a free market and wins it on its own merit.
With iPhone/iPad's marketshare and demonstrated buying power, there's no need for them to 'complain' to websites..
