Ok ever since the last update my phone is worthless. Seriously this is very strange.

So, after the update, which i used the software to do i believe on my computer, the first thing i noticed is that the blue light on the front no longer blinked while the device was not being used.

Im not sure if that was part of the update or not?

Anyways the next thing i noticed and the main problem here, is that I can have a fully charged battery, turn it on, set it down, and by the morning the stupid thing will be dead!!!! With ZERO USAGE

Its WAY to early for this to be a battery problem.

So then i went, and flashed it with the flashing software to the most current update thinking that might fix it....nope.

It only blinks blue when a message has arrived. Otherwise it pulses white, but that can be turned off.

Check your wireless/3g settings, what software do you have installed, just because it's sitting idle doesn't mean it's "doing nothing," etc.

Start with a list of software you've installed since the reflash.

was pretty sure it pulsed blue but maybe it was white....either way after the update it doesn't pulse at all in standby....how does one turn it off? because id like to "try" to turn it on....since its sopposed to be.

And i don't have ANYTHING installed, this is a fresh flash barebones.

Something got seriously screwed up due to that update

The device doesn't by default have an LED flash of any kind when it's just sitting idle to my knowledge.
Essentially the common LED indicators to see are:
Device charging = flashing orange
Device connected to charger but full = steady green
Missed call / IM/SMS/Email waiting = flashing blue
Powering the device on/off = fading in/out steady white for a few seconds
Major hardware malfunction = flashing red.

Edit: Ah yes, the option you're after is controlled by setting PatternDeviceOn to true, which can be done via "Notification Light" within the device's settings interface, by ticking the "Device On" option, to have a flashing light the whole time. Afaik, this option does and has always defaulted to off though, so you must have previously enabled it.

ok just fully charged it just this second, i turned on the flashing light, then i turned off wifi, then i made sure bluetooth was off(already was), turned down the backlight, put the phone into silent mode, and it doesn't have a sim chip in it so gps and anything else service related won't be a problem.

Ill post back when the light stops flashing
