Since the "new" site of talk.maemo.org became active, I thought it was an improvement on the old internet tablet talk. However, my one gripe
(and it's a big one) with the site has always been the search functionality (top right-hand of the page).

Whenever I search for a something, the results are always poor. On the other hand, I've noticed that searching through the "new post" title bar is usually good (after typing a title into the new post dialogue, maemo.org searches for related threads). So much so that I have started go there to "search" for relevant posts.

Anyone else share my concerns? Is there anything that can be done to modify the default search box (without having to go to advanced search, etc..)

You can try the Power Search at the right.

For those of us using the Classic themes where Power Search currently doesn't appear, can it be added as a link somewhere? Underneath the Search drop-down would seem logical.

http://www.google.com/search?q=+site...rg+search+term

I guess you could code something simple with e.g vbscript so you dont have to put in those +
Another way is to make it a bookmark and just edit the search term after you click it.

I think that forum rules about naming threads should be specified. That would improved search function.
Something like this:
"Always specify what is the problem of thread in the title.
Topic such us:
'n900 problem!!! zomg plz helpx me!' will be deleted.
Example of correct naming of thread:
'My n900 battery is dead' "

This would make more work for moderators, but it's not a problem to hire two or three more(?)

I find using google to be much easier, i.e. "site:talk.maemo.org nitdroid"
