Well, you can also disable scanning for INBOX and all its subfolders from INBOX's properties, then re-enable scanning for INBOX (but not its subfolders)

Although I have no proper answer, I had similar problems at some occations, lastly when I upgraded to 3.0. I solved it by carefully comparing the (working) setup of osso-email with my claws-mail configuration, put in the same numbers (ports, authentication etc.), finally hit that 'rebuild-tree' or whatever c-m sometimes suggest, and voila - it worked again.
