Sorry but none of the suggested threads made any sense and search did not help.

I want to configure E-mail (not MFE) on my N900. Does it store all the items on the device storage in a db or does it just read from the server? I remember configuring this once earlier and deleting emails on my device also deletes them from the server.

I have thousands and thousands of emails so will that take up space on the device?

depends on your e-mail server

IMAP stores e-mails on central server

POP downloads them to the local device.
