I remember that there are a few devices like camera that have the 4-pole 3.5mm connector like the N800's headphones use. Can I use one of those cables to separate out the microphone to use a different one?

wow--thanks for the link, i've been looking for a splitter like this for both my EO v7110 and the N800.
