Is it just me, or are the external speakers not loud enough?
I've read a couple of threads where people complain about volume for either the earpiece or the two external speakers, and here someone references a tool you can use in terminal to make adjustments...but still not sure if that would make any improvements.

I, for one, do not have any issues with the earpiece, at times it can be even too loud for me, but then again, maybe that is just my own sensitivity.

My main beef is with the external speakers...like I have read others say, other nokia phones like the N95 8GB, which I still have, definitely have way superior external speakers. Listening to music really isn't an issue (since its mostly headphones,) it's mainly voice where I have problems. I haven't shelled out the dough for a bluetooth car stereo since i got my new car, and until that time (if it ever comes,) I'll just continue to do the speaker phone in hand in front of face thing, but man, I really have problems hearing people!

Even just sitting at my desk on hold with someone with it on speaker...i really have trouble.

My hope is that someone in talk can either give me some instructions in alsamixer to improve volume for speaker phone, or perhaps someone might suggest a hardware mod for replacing the stock speakers with some other speaker that would be compatible.

If anyone comes up with any ideas, I will probobly take my phone down to these really cool filipino cell phone repair dudes I know in LA, and give it to them to try, or even see if they can come up with something on their own.

hey if you found a way to replace the speakers and make it louder tell us, i feel your pain and i dont want an external speakers
