Installed launcher 0.1.1 on n800 with Diablo5 theme. No reboot loop and works great. Beutiful !
If you already have the original application menu in the status bar then go to control panel>menu>status bar and disable it and then enable it again. This will update the status bar.

Is this step 3/5 in Kroll's plan for world domination ?
Would be nice to have telescope launcher in status bar or have the two apps combined. And five recently launched apps. And time/date/battery status. And EMP button to blow out the sentinals. And stargate activator.

So, I had installed, but nothing different appears... after at least 8 reboots (Not in a loop) it doesn't work...
I had an idea: How about integrate the 5 best apps for Diablo in one package? Diablo5, Telescope, AlternativeAppLauncher, XcompMGR and DiabloTurbo? It would be cool.

Gazza_d, I think you have installed the first iteration of the 0.1.1 package. There was a misspelled on the applet desktop file and I've re-uploaded it. Try installing it again.

Hi tuliobaars, what do you mean by nothing different appears? Does the menu appear? Does the applet appear at all? And try to run
on a terminal, and copy n paste the output here.

tuliobaars, it seems to me that you have d-bus broken on your tablet...
angun33, i've installed launcher 0.1.1 and it works well for me. Mauku and fheroes icons are now displayed. Osso games are starting ok. The only app i found not starting is BlueMaemo. It has this crap in its desktop file:
Note the ‘sudo’. Not sure how to run that.
Btw, it seems that you are starting apps as child processes of launcher process. I think it is not good idea. If the launcher will be terminated for some reason, applications started from it will be terminated too and user may loss some data. I think there might be some proper (may be maemo-specific) way to start applications.

Also is it possible to launch an information Banner before the app, little feedback always helps.

I think if there is some official API for starting application, this banner will be shown automatically.
If there is not, angun33, you will have to use libosso in the launcher

I don't know if this is related to bluemaemo not starting for mitrandir, but quite a few applications for me will not start from the alt app launcher. also it seems like the area to tap an icon feels small, like i need need to be more precise or else I'll miss and have to open it up again.
