still microB here.

I tried opera after reading this thread the other day but didn't like how it messed with font and it looked like it was always zoomed out a bit.

You must have missed the point on what drains the n900 (and milsestone) battery.
It's the 3g and given that the consumption will vary hugely from network to network and from baseband sw to baseband sw.

Here in italy, both n900 and milestone, were lasting in about 6 hours if used on vodafone network, but if used on three network the average last time was about one whole day.

Now both phones are doing better.

The difference is that n900 is doing slightly better, the milestone is doing hugely better.

Given that saying "my n900 last in 24+ hours" is simply pointless, you are on a different network, maybe just 7.2 or lower, I'm on speedyer network and this makes the difference.

I'm acctually on 10 Mbit/s and the main reason the battery last long is that i have overclocked and undervolted. Before it lasted just 12-24h.. 8h if under constant heavy use. Now, altough i have not tried it might last 72h on idle.

yeah, now Ive tried out FF for a while.

Opera was an instant "no" for me, due to several sites going "mobile". Also the zoom felt wrong and "off". With MicroB I rarely have so zoom, if at all.

Firefox was allright, but there was something off about it. dont know if its the speed, or slow upstart time or what, but MicroB will remain my browser of choice. Its fast, tabs, sites load fully, it does all my PC browser does.

from which source did you get that from? The less battery the phone use the longer it will hold. Pretty simple as that. I have had it lasted longer than 48 hours. Normally i charge when i get home from work and use it so i am not sure if it would hold for 72h in idle state but it is plausable. During night i lose somewhere between 5-10%.

Opera mobile FTW. Last update made it even faster. Now all the other browsers (microb and firefox/fennec) feel dead slow to me. In opera when i hit back button it most of time takes me instantly back and scrolling is also amazingly fast in last version. Not bad for an hobby project imho

ps.
I´am infamously inpatient person and if program loads 2 seconds longer than competitor then for me it´s unbearable and terrible thing I´m that person who starts to hit keyboard with hammer after 10s of hang process and goes nuts You should see me when i TRY to use application manager on N900. I´m always on verge on hitting it with something. Lately i have just gave up and let it do it work with blank screen while i try to do something useful.

Using MicroB - does everything I need it to.

Tried Firefox the other day and it was also OK, but didnt see any reason to change.
