Ever since I reflashed I get this annoying 'hello this is linus torvald and i pronounce linux as linux' line. It just wastes battery power and annoys me. How do I get rid of this?

its likely you replaced the boot animation
google gives many guides to getting it working and its obvious at some time in the past you followed one of them

OK, just to explain, this is a wav added when you install Console_tools (From PB) or another tool to check the filesystens at boot. When it plays, is to show you that is all working. If it doesn't play, let you know that is something different with the partition tablet.
