Doesn't work viewfinder is all gray and it doesn't seem to take any pictures. What a dissapointment.

Not that the project should have necessarily taken it into consideration per se... but having no knowledge of it what-so-ever throughout initial development?
Titan's kernel is one of the hottest TMO topics. Anyway, hope it's sorted so power users can eventually check out fcam.

e: what can we learn? your use cases aren't the only ones. N900 allows huge diversity.

if you are blind, it is not others problem. jpeg discard a helluva lot data from raw....

hmmm....well done nokia. i installed the fcam and drivers and it trashed my camera. complete removal and my cam is working again.....exciting news yeah some beta app....awsome.

What a cranky thread this is! Look, when someone does something innovative, sometimes there is an adjustment period. Titan needs a raise in salary before he's going to monitor things and fix his kernel lickety-split, whenever something problematic comes out. We need some patience. We could always go back to not overclocking, depending on what we care about most. Chill out!

I thought the same thing. The devolopers must not be N900 users, as in they own one and use it as their primary (or even secondary) device. Sounds like engineers that don't drive the cars that their engines power...
Should new apps be denied from maemo repos until they have been tested with titans kernel? What if the developer is not interested in overclocking and cannot be arsed to do this? His/her (otherwise fine app) will never appear in repos? What if tomorrow we will get a neat unofficial kernel from Paul, and another one from Mary? Apps now need to be tested with all four available kernels before allowing them to repos?
No, that is nonsense -- that kind of control is possible only among components of a closed system. The only sensible way to do it here is the one that was practiced: develop and test with the official kernel, official components. If there are problems with community add-ons, fix them as problems appear, if feasible.
