Hi,

Can Maps do reroute in an easy way. The only way I got it working is to delete the existing route and that causes Maps to loose destination forcing the user to search/type it again.. Difficult and dangerous while dricing..

I read from some topic (that I coudn't find again) that current GPS position could be "reused" to trigger reroute.

Or is this once again an UI "feature" like Ctrl+Shift+I in MicroB to reflow page..

In the older ovi maps (before pr 1.2), I was able to re route by doing something like repicking the start location as my gps position. Forgot the exact way since it's been a while.

With the latest ovi maps, it doesn't seem possible. It doesn't actually recalculate the route.

2 thing that might seem to work would be to just add a 3rd waypoint, let it calculate, delete it, then calculate again. Or change it to walking, calculate, then back to driving, then calculate.

Haven't actually tested these, but seems they will work. Not good while driving, but the newest n900 maps is horrible for driving altogether. Not really finger friendly, and haven't used it for a while.

Thanks breakd0wn,

I was hoping there would be an elegant way, but no..

As long as Nokia makes apps with these useability killers, Apple and Android makers don't need to worry about future market shares.

Just tried the switch to walking and it seemed to work. It keeps the A in the same place, but does re route based on the actual new gps location.

Not too bad I guess, have to get used to this new ovi maps. They made a lot of changes. It's nothing special, but it works. I have probably used it 5 or 6 times in the 6 months I had this device and each time it got me to my destination.
