Just so people know I'm at least listening I've added to a list the following items:
  • Possibily jump straight to book selection on first launch
  • Absolute time increments
  • Elapsed time / time left
  • Volume control while screen is off
  • Variable speed

Please note I am working on the following other items (in priority order) as well and cannot say when I will get to this (but patches always welcome)
  • Porting ejpi to Qt (Done)
  • Reviewing a meego book
  • Preparing an app I made a couple months ago ready for release
  • Travel preparations
  • Adding proxy support for DC/TOR (not started but I need to keep this one listed) (In work)
  • Porting DC, unreleased app, others? to Qt
  • New apps
  • Conquering the world

That is correct. I can't set the title on those dialogs for some reason and so it goes with the "Application's name" which for the playback hack is FMRadio.

Thanks Ed!

I'm still using this daily so I really don't have any suggestions outside of some type of volume control and that stupid looking white square box icon of nothingness.

Hey, between your last two versions, I think you added a little more screen room to display the graphic image of each book.

What is the exact new dimension of this space so I can redo the graphics for them?

I really don't know

Can't you just add all the sizes of the buttons then subtract that from 800?

Oh well.

I'll just spend the next 300 hours trying to figure it out myself then.

You know Ed, wait for it, wait for it, *lol* incorporating some type of dictation feature is something I don't think our tablets ever got that much love with.

Like time stamped notes that you would speak into the mic.

Not sure where I'm going with this but do you like the idea of somehow having the user make his own audio book?

Wow. Some days I sure can be unrelenting with you.

Just to let you all know. epage has accepted to be the official maintainer for this app. It will make absolutely no difference to anyone (but me) since he was already doing all the maintaining.

As for myself, I am very much pleased with what my little project has grown into, and I'm glad its useful to you guys, but for me it has actually been done for a long time, and I simply don't have the time for it. But it has been great.

Also I created a a wiki page and modified the first post to point to it so you can update the info yourself (if anyone is interested).

Is fast-forwarding/rewinding through the book included in any of these?

The default media player allows you to hold down the |< or >| button to skip through the track - I find this sort of thing really useful for listening to audiobooks while I'm out running in case I was paying attention to something else and missed some of the book.

People had at least asked for absolute time incremeents like back 5 seconds for doing transcribing.

There is Maemo Recorder. However, I think there is a known oddity where if volume is turned off it doesn't record even though you think it is recording. So you need to do a "Testing, testing" run first to make sure it's recording properly.
