I do so much on this phone RSS, remote desktop, emails, photo's, social networking, use it as my mp3 at gym, use the calendar, gps and god knows all the other stuff I do with it. It doesn't have a huge screen but the keyboard is a must on my personal phone. I still can't get used to texting and typing on a touchscreen alone. I know companies are trying so hard to get away from keyboards but its the only way I fly. lol. I will have this thing for as long as it turns on and works, (also as long as the hacks and updates continue.)

I kept my old N6230 for over 5 years, and still have it kicking around right now doing some testing with a TMobil card. I'll have this one as long as it keeps working and does all the things I find essential, which means probably 4 to 6 years again. Eventually some new things will hit that can't be done without some major hardware updates, and then I'll get a new one and turn this into a low bandwidth mobile web server or something.

I personally love this device. Think I'm going to keep it for a while. Unless the 1st nokia meego device is something spectacular.
I took a long time deliberating before I purchased the N900. My requirements being keyboard, "real browsing," extensible, e-mail and social media options, eBook reader, camera, music player, WiFi, Bluetooth, external display option, expandable memory, and synchronization with OS X.

The N900 isn't cheap, but I plan to use it for at least two years unless something considerably better comes along. After that, the N900 becomes a backup for whatever usurps it.

Still using some of my old cellphones as backup GPS devices and alarm clocks....

Even if I stop using the N900 I will still hang on to it. I think it is an interesting historical device - something that few other manufacturers have attempted. Nokia got some things wrong, but it is a worthy and interesting experiment. I don't want future devices to be locked, I don't want Google to control my cellphone.

I was planning on changing later this year just to gain some first-hand insight of other devices and OS's.

I never buy a 'sensible' phone (for me E72 or BB) and have even considered iPhone 4 (nothing is for ever!)

I just can't see myself parting with this amazing device, though and look forward to ongoing community developments to release even more potential from N900.

However, I remain cautious about Meego and the next few Nokia 'superphones'...

Until there is a successor for my N900. (meego based, not the harmattan device)

I assume it must have a Camera shutter, a N900 like keyboard and a resistive touchscreen. About the rest I will think when it is announced. So let's wait and see what there could come...

Actually i'd prefer e90-like keyboard.

Im gonna hang onto it for awhile. I plan on picking up the N9 if its like the protype pics with the physical keyboard. The n900 will then be the backup or just a little internet tablet/mp3 player for the gym or whatever. Im not gonna sell or get rid of it though, like I did the n97. I got rid of that thing faster than a preacher's daughter's first abortion.

I usually get the leastest and greatest device out that fit my needs but the n900 holds a spot in one of the coolest devices I ever owned. So I can say I will have this phone about two years. And the way nokia supported this phone I wont be so quick to jump on the meego bandwagon. I WILL wait to see how there meego devices unfold thats for sure
