Hi guys & gals,

After an unfortunate random mashup of buttons in my pocket, my N900 is now asking for the lock code.

I don't remember setting it myself, and the default code of "12345" isn't working either.

Now, I know I could reflash the device to get it to boot and then extract the code via other means afterwards, that's all fine and I could do that - it's just that I don't have any recent backup of my device and I don't want to lose my data.

Is there a way (I know there is, but I don't know what it is) to bypass the boot time lock code by using the flasher or some other means that does not involve losing data?

Thanks!

Nope. The lock code was made so it locks your data from being accessed. Being able to remove it illegitimately defeats this purpose.
The only way would be to flash emmc(which deletes your data).

You've got to reflash but this won't reset your code. So read the following thread: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...ht=unlock+code

I'm not sure if "Nemesis Service Suite" can help. Anyway, next time be sure to install something like http://maemo.org/packages/view/backupmenu/ for rescue.
