The only thing that bothers me is that as a tile is loading, the background is black and then you can't see the buttons.
That is a bug. I was in hurry to release version for competition and the fog effect did not work for any other color. But it still looked cool so I included it.

You just made my day. I'll start working on it this week. Can you break down the software so I know exactly what I need to make.

Please do not constrain yourself with software limits right now. I wish to know what you want it to look like in first place.

besides, navit is open source, you could easily re-use the code to read those maps.
I know vector based maps have many advantages. But there is already plenty of work to do for tile approach (see post #50). For now let me follow that roadmap and then we will discuss whats next.

But let me clear one thing. Vector based navigation has been researched and developed by companies for about a decade now and it would be very difficult to catch up in short time (read: one year). I am not saying it is impossible but still very hard. I preffer to look at simpler tile based approach as some kind of warranty that it is doable in reasonable time. For now I can olny say that I would like to approach vector based navigation when CloudGPS is "complete".

Try installing it using application manager. Version uploaded to extras-devel has this dependency issue fixed.

Yes that is the fixed one. The dependency on libgles1 is stated explicitely in debian/control file. App manager would not install it without this dependency beeing satisfied. Could you paste here exact output of this command run in terminal on N900:
Code:
/opt/cloudgps/cloudgps
