If you feel like I shouldn't list the reasons why. I've had this phone for 6 months and it's awesome, but I'm the type that can't stick to one thing for long (just like my women hehe) so the new N8 looks great but I only have one problems and that it's a Symbian OS.

Well you may ask "what is so bad about the Symbian OS?" Well I had an N97 and yes I know it may not be the same OS but it's a little similar right? N97 sucked balls for sure but the design was beautiful. The N8 is beautiful as well, but presentation from the OS is what matters to me. I havent seen any videos of the OS in action, but the N97's OS was sloppy, dysfunctional, sluggish and frustrating.

So well the new Symbian^3 OS be heavily supported this time or what? I couldn't find many things when I had the N97 and most apps were okay at most. So should I get this phone or not?

Symbian^3 is what S60 5th Edition/whatever should have been when it came out 2 years ago.

Of course its now two years later and they should have something else thats shown 2 years of improvement. Suffice to say, Nokia Fail.

The n8 would be pretty cool... if it was running something other than Symbian.

My suggestion is wait. I've been looking at the Windows Phone 7 stuff and holy ****, it looks awesome. Thats where I'm looking for my next phone.

Hmm yeah that does sound good. I know nothing about Windows 7 phones though, but I'm sure you can do a lot of synchronization with the W7 on a PC and ****. As long as it is open source I'm game. The N8's hardware is spectacular but **** S^3!! I thought they were ditching that in the "high end N-series devices"? Whatever happened to that?

The n8 is the last S^3 nseries device. Of course they intentionally left the door open to put S^4 on nseries devices in the future.

Its WIndows so obviously its not open source. If you're still interested, this is an excellent overview: http://www.engadget.com/2010/07/19/w...depth-preview/
