This issue is quite outstanding, and I can't imagine how they finally decided to ship the final release with such a defect (the lack of v-sync is really hurting the user experience).
I think this is an evidence of how low on ressource the maemo dev team is. I really hope Meego will have a better treatment, otherwise the wishes of Nokia to shine on the high-end market are already doomed.

From what I understand its both a kernel issue and a driver issue, I know meego is at early stage but is there any news if the port will have VSYNC enabled in drivers for the n900?

I just talked to a dev on IMGTEC if they could send us the drivers to fix the issue with the n900's VSYNC I will update when he responds
