Hi all

There are 3 project with a port of nano:
http://maemo.org/packages/view/nano-opt/
http://maemo.org/packages/view/nano/
http://maemo.org/packages/view/nano-2.0.7/

Which one should I install?
And how doi do it?
All 3 need libc6 (>= 2.5.0-1), libncursesw5 (>= 5.7+20081213-1.maemo1+0m5) which i do not have and m not able to upgrade.
Also I can not find a version I can download and install.

I can use vi, but prefere nano/pico,... far more, asl oon a normal PC.

I would guess that nano-opt is a good choice. You need to have Extras-testing repository enabled (check wiki for instructions) and then you should be able to install it from application manager.

I have testings activated (as well as devel).
I am sitting behind a very restrictive firewall and can not update my repository lists.
According to http://maemo.org/packages/repository...in_repo_page=2 the most recent version should be libncursesw5 5.7+20081213-1.maemo1+0m5.
However I can not find a place where I can download it.
If I do an "apt-get install libncursesw5" I run into a timeout.
If I want to download it manually, I get this message in the browser:
You don't have permission to access "http://downloads.maemo.nokia.com/fremantle/ssu/mr0/libncursesw5_5.7+20081213-1.maemo1+0m5_armel.deb" on this server.

What is wrong there?
If somebody has the file or a valid link, please send it to me as PM.

I had to install it with dpkg -i. The package manager always quit with a failur
But now it works.
