I have a problem. I have these non-music sound files showing up in my mediaplayer.. is there any way to hide these?

It's annoying to hear a basic ringtone in music player.

I have been searching, but haven't found any answer to my problem.

Try putting them in a file titled 'Private'

This works for video files & images.

You mean directory called Private.

There should have been a Private/.pr0n directory on the sales MMC image, so people wouldn't have to come up with a discreet way of asking it.

Thanks vivainio - I stand corrected.

I meant to type folder as this is more relevent to the options within File Manager. Must stop drinking coffee late at night!

Use an app in the repository called tracker-cfg

In it go to NoWatchDirectory and add the directory you don't want to appear.

Tracker Cfg application has an option rebuild database, accesible from dropdown menu.

IIRC every time one make changes to watched folders database is updated automatically.

or to be more helpful

instead of saving the videos to the video folder on your phone, simply put them into the .cities folder, this folder is not monitored by the media player so the videos wont show up in the player listings. And just use file manager to access the videos.
