Hello everyone...

Well I had my n900 working perfectly for around 6 months, when suddenly I couldnt charge my cellphone anymore... I sent it to the NOKIA care center, where they fixed the USB port, but somehow managed to delete/uninstall the FM transmitter application for my system:

When I go to the music player, and play a song and tap on the menu button, I only get: 1-Clear Now Playing
2-Save Playlist

What should I do to get the Fm transmitter back? please reply ASAP... Thanks in advance!

then do a backup first, it'll tafke tess than an hour for you fo re-flash and then re-install from a backup. That includes wiki reading time so it really is the easiest option.

I noticed the same thing yesterday. Only that I haven't uninstalled the FM transmitter.
As far as I remember, the FM transmitter could be found under Settings. I'm in romania and there are no FM transmitter restrictions here. Also I'd like to skip past reflashing... Any thoughts? Isn't there a way to start the fm transmitter using the terminal?

It must be related to the firmware. It can`t simply dissapear, the hardware is still there.Reinstall the PR1.2 firmware and you should be good.

Also, you haven`t installed the leaked PR1.2 or any other Asian firmware have you?If you did then you may have an issue.

@sophocha: No, I haven't installed anything that's "unofficial." I know it was there, I know that I haven't uninstalled it.

It might have disappeared after upgrading to PR1.2 which happened a long time ago. I've tried reboots, I've been looking for it when the phone wasn't plugged in or something...

If there isn't another solution, I'll probably reflash the device...

i did reflash my device with the latest firmware, but seriously im having the same issue... the best entertaining feature i had in n900 is now gone due to some bug, or some technical problem at the nokia care center... and the admins of the forum are not able to help me... then i either have to sell my cell phone and never get nokia anymore for their service is already so weak, or i have to send it to nokia in finland and wait up to 1 month without a cell phone... I'd rather choose the first option... and if there is another bug fix or any technical way that might help me fix this problem, then please let me know!
