Yes I did drop my N900 and it bounced several times and luckily for me I couldn't even find a scratch.

To be fair all Nokia's phones are built very robust, thus their abnormal high weight.

I dropped it on my carpet floor and the screen gone crazy, twitchering, greyish and blash flashing. I thought i killed it already and i left it turned off with battery out for a while abd then it works again lol. But i hate that it get slower if you left the N900 on more than 24hours. Then you'll have to reboot!

Bad things about the n900:
*characters on keyboard are fading away
occasional sluggishness
*increase in sluggishness becoming a reason for regular reboots
*weak usb port
*full fledged themes with transitions require reboot
*no usb host mode
*microsd requires back over to be closed
*makes me spend too much time playing with it

And then there are the umpteen reasons of why i love this device which im too lazy to type..

I think that should be:

But, yes, I am more than happy with the build quality on the N900. I use the stylus a lot, yet the screen is still as new after 6 months of use, despite not having a protector. I have noticed some wear on a couple of the keys, though.

After reading all these stories, I must confess...

I've been bad to my N900.

I've dropped it multiple times; on all sorts of surfaces. I've tried drowning it, to no avail. Only after a demented night of trying to forcefully wedge it between two rocks was I able to actually scratch the screen.

And my hardware treatment is no better than my software abuse. All kinds of devel apps installed which, well..., probably shouldn't have seen any time on my OS. The other day I downloaded a 200 Mb. file to my root folder... that was fun. But even a computer with 0 Mb. root space can function, albeit without creating any temporary files.
Ahhhh.....

Luckily, I have the N900. And it's working beautifully even after all that.

Where can you get screen protectors for the n900. I've searched around and can't find any.

Shops only seem to cater for Iphone screen protectors
