Just watching TV and saw the latest Apple iTard commercial. This time is to market Facetime features out of the iPhone 4. Funny thing is, the fine print at the end of the commercial says "Facetime requires iphone 4 and a WIFI connection" but the ad has a pregnant woman visiting an obstetrician and show her husband the ultrasound.

So which Obstetrician offers free WIFI to their patients to make Video calls to their husbands? The last time I went to one, I had to switch my phone off as it apparently interferes with the ultrasound equipment. Seriously, Apple.. what sort of commercial is that?
Well, they were probably using the iPhone wifi-tethered to an N900 with MobileHotSpot and T-mo 3G.

(Now that I think, though, I'm not sure whether the iPhone will do ad-hoc wifi... I know Haiku doesn't.)

Let's not get emotional and become stupid sheeps here. Here's an article written by someone in the business that talks about quality, costs and availability limitations of 3G video calls.

It'd be nice if we can talk about issues backed with facts.

You would not be so cavalier if you knew that this soldier hasn't seen his wife in 10 months; while he's fighting for our freedoms, FaceTime is the only connection of the proud future father to his loving wife.

... and meanwhile iPhones 4 are sold out while the resale values of N900 continues to plummet.

I am sorry, but who is the "tard" again based on profitability and the bottom line ? Which is the more successful product ?

not an Apple fan, but there are equal amounts of "nTards" here as well. look in the mirror for some perspective.

I don't own AAPL or NOK stock, so I do not care. However, since you seem to be concerned with such worldly matters, I will point you to a very off-topic observation:

1. HPQ took a dive on Friday after the CEO Mark Hurd was forced to resign.
2. Apple's SVP of Devices Hardware Engineering Mark Papermaster is leaving Apple for unknown reasons.
3. Watch out for AAPL on Monday.

You're welcome

lol AAPL and much of the market trades on technicals due to the prevelance of HFT in the market these days - if you are trading off fundamentals and news in this market I hope you have hedges in place. Plus AAPL is a mo mo stock and is in a different class from HP movement wise and it is very foolish to draw parallels between the two.

but hey as it is said "sold to you !"

disc - no position in tech

"Making fun of others"... it doesn't improve yourself. It only takes your eyes off the ball for second or two so you can sink further...

Maybe you should look at the context of this thread first before calling nTards mate. It is specifically targeting the advertising and how inaccurate it is - that people can believe that they can use an iphone 4 inside a medical clinic using some sort of "free" Wifi service? Or the probability of the older folk who would know how to set up a WIFI at home with Facetime?

Just because iphone has a better resale value doesnt make it any better. In fact, a lot of people eat McDonalds (with huge demands) - does not make McDonalds Gourmet fine dining quality. It just means that they have a better propaganda engine than Nokia.
