I was fooling around with the pin entry dialpad and decided to test the emergency call functionality (but obviously i stopped short from actually making any call), 911 and 112 both work, but Brazil's 190 and Mercosul's 128 are not recognized.

I dunno what exactly the law says about the matter around here, but i would rather not have to worry about that.

What would be the best way to make Nokia aware of the issue, and how to get this fixed?

If you bought your phone from Nokia Brazil, I think it should ideally be able to identify the standard local emergency numbers.

You can try filing a bug for the same at
https://bugs.maemo.org/

You will have to make an account on the above site to create a bug report if you haven't registered there before. The email address you use to register is visible to other users btw, so if thats a problem, I suggest making a new email account first too.

EDIT: Looked up the same issue online and it says 112 is the standard international emergency number for GSM networks and any call made to it is redirected to the local emergency number(if possible).

Wikipedia says 911 or 112 calls are redirected to 190 in Brazil. But I don't know for sure if that is 100% correct.

My father brought it from a busyness trip to the US, but i've updated the firmware when it was already here, are you saying it's hardcoded in the hardware itself?

I guess it would probably be better if i first confirm if really there is somthing to report before filing the bug report, i'll wait till i get more info on this.

The emergency number for Hong Kong is 999, and that doesn't work either. Unfortunately, not many people know about the 112 number.
