I wonder does the Nokia n810 have an fm radio or fm transmitter. I know the n900 does but that thing is way more expensive.

Actually it can do it without the car doc you go into the settings and fm transmitter and select where you want to to transmit sound to.

hmm, interesting. I thought i read a update log claiming that it had become dependent on detecting the car dock.

The FM transmitter option no longer works simply by using a pair of headphones. That option was deemed as inferior and because it didn't work for so many, Archos now requires the use of the car mount's car charger cable for the FM transmitter to be activated.
