I sent out an email with a jpg attachment to some friends. I cc myself to my Yahoo account. This was done on a desktop browser. When Nokia Messaging pull and push the email, the attachment was not what I attached. Actually, it was NOT EVEN my picture, and yes. I am sure. It was a 1.4 meg picture dated 2006 of 3 Indian looking gentlemen sitting behind a table like being interviewed.
I said WTF and check Yahoo mail via desktop computer. It was showing the correct picture. The file name (when you click on the attachment in email) is the correct one, but picture is wrong. I called one of my friend and the picture came through correctly.
I also have my N900 to pull my yahoo email directly using imap (by pass Nokia Messaging since it seems to be down every few weeks), and it showed the correct email with attachment.
I have attachment corruption before, but not this. It is only on NMS side.
So.
1. Could this picture be embedded somewhere in the OS? Is there a 1.39 MB picture on N900 Maemo PR 1.2 that has a date tag of Jan. 8, 2006 2:47 am taken by Nikon D40?
I doubt it.
2. What is the chance of Nokia Messaging pull an Yahoo email, and got the wrong attachment?
The NMS Yahoo email has been syncing already and the image is still there. I save it just in case as a record.
totally confused and maybe paranoid.
thanks,
Maczep.
