Hello, I have an Vodafone UK locked N900 and I'm trying to get it unlocked... I bought an unlock code but it should be used in a syntax like #PW+UNLOCKCODE+1# from the phone keypad, but can'dt get the "w" from the * key. also, if I go to settings, advanced settings (upper part of the screen) there is a button for entering the network unlock code, but after the code is inserted it says "operation failed".
could anybody help me?
thank you!

Or they can at least be unlocked by flashing the PR1.2 Global firmware.

Yeah as long as flash to the global firmware( might as well flash the emmc too) it should be just like any normal phone. I dont think they can lock IMEI number.

I tried flashing to PR1.2 Global firmware but still locked... I'm looking for a while a way to enter the code and found other peoples with the same problem but no results so far. Some didn't had their phones locked even if bought from Vodafone UK, other asked Vodafone to unlock their phones and they received an unlock code with the following instructions:

1. Power on your Nokia N900
2. Type #pw+UNLOCKCODE+1# (Where UNLOCKCODE is your Nokia N900’s unlock code)
3. Your N900 should say “SIM Restriction Off”

but again, no way to do it because of the "w"

optimistprime code was entered correctly, I bought it from ebay from a member who also sold some some codes for some HTCs and a SE X10 and worked flawlessly

I was under the impression n900 wasnt locked at all, I have vodafone uk one and it has never been locked and I happily flashed from 1.1 205 to 1.2 203 uk variant, not caused any issues or problems.

Are you sure the reason the code doesnt work isnt because the phone is already unlocked and doesnt support typing in a code at all?

rgds

have you tried just entering the unlock code part itself in the advanced settings section?

Well... It sounds like a scam to me. Why do you think your device is locked? Tried another sim?
