So, does no one uses a simple two-earphone+mic device? Other brands don't seem to works (I've tried lots) and the nokia online store (which is terrible and pricey) is out of stock...

Try fleabay for the WH-205's, I've had no problems getting hold of them.

I use original Nokia's AD-57+HS-45 headset ( http://europe.nokia.com/find-product...ts/hs-45-ad-57 )- it works fine. Also, with AD-57 you can use any kind of 3.5 mm earphone.

I use triple.fi 10s as headphones. You can have any wired headphone plugged into the n900 and still have telephone functionality without a headphone mic. The audio for a phone call will still be picked up by the phone mic and you can hear the call on your headphones. You just need to answer/make/end calls through the phone like you would without the headset.

I also have the nokia bh-214 bluetooth adapter with built-in mic (you can plug any 3.5mm headphones into this adapter, i plug in my triple.fis). I normally only use this though when I commute so I can listen to my music and scroll through tracks without having to take my n900 out of my pocket. It adds a little hiss in the background to the audio but this is easily blocked out by turning up the volume a notch. When I use this on a call the quality and functionality is fine (you still can only answer/end a call with this, you need to make a call through the n900).

Absolutely, best place for Nokia WH-205īs is ebay.

$3.39 and up will get you a brand new set from China (be it authentic-factory knockoff or counterfeit)

In fact I just bought myself a set a few days ago on this particular auction as I needed replacement silicon ear buds:

I'd recommend Skullcandy Smokin' Buds, they're cheap, durable and includes an inline mic.

Why not just get a voyager pro or another decent monoaural headset of your choosing?
I don't think you have to use the official Sony BT headset with your PS3, I could be mistaken though.
