change user agent string to pc user agent, works 95% of the time i find. use power search in the top corner to find out more!

the user agent tells websites which browser ur using (ie5, firefox, phones) so setting it to a pc / linx box equivelant will work most of the time (i assume you did actually change the user agent once you downloaded the app that allows you to change it?) however a minority of sites may use alternate methods for figuring out what setup you are using.

For once in a while mobile version browsing to websites that check the user agent for mobile version (many don’t do the checking), how about using this ?

There's a few things that can affect it, the main ones are:

- User agent
- IP
- Anything your service provider appends onto requests.

Firstly, do you get the rich version when using wifi?

If yes, then its more likely the user agent. If no, then it could be any of the above.

Let me know the answer to that first.

Doesn't the free opera browser for the n900 have this option build in? you can put mobile view on or of in the settings. this way you wont screw up your ovi shop.

Just a thought.
