The flashlight app isn't an app but a statusbar plugin.
So, you can not add it to the powerbutton menu :-(

You could add Liqtorch that works like a normal app so could be started with LaunchApplication. Brings just a bright white screen not LEDs but enough for most situations where you need to see where to step on.

just rethinking this some more obviously we cant run flashlight because its not an app but a status plugin, but can we run the command the status bar plugin uses ?

There probably is no D-Bus command to turn the LED on/off, the status bar plugin at least doesn't seem to be sending this kind of messages. Thus, you'll need an app of some sort, maybe something that only turns the LED on or off depending on the current state, or something like Moodlight that allows switching the LED on/off.

Is there a command for the status bar menu that can be added to the powerbutton menu?

(That is, touch power button and slide out powerbutton menu, then touch "status" powerbutton menu item that would slide out statusbar menu...)

Belay that. DOH!

I only wanted the Status bar menu to reach Quick Launch...
Simple fix: I create Power Button menu items for the 4 apps I use Quick Launch for.

I was searching for a way to bring up the dashboard in Quick Launch, when I found this thread. I actually like this solution better, but my quest has not resolved...

Is there a command that brings up the dashboard?

Failing that, is there a command that brings up the desktop? (which appears to be what romiio is looking for as well)
