Thanks this was bugg'n me as well. I let it load for 20 hours. I knew I had a lot of music, but that was a little long.

Edit: That version crashes every time I try to play anything. Does the stable codebase support your Nokia770 Skin?

Thanks for the great info. I finally got it running and it works well. The only difficulty I had was figuring out that I needed to use the IP address of my router and not the IP address of the computer itself that the software was installed on. I'm not an expert Looking forward to future improvements.

Hiya,

The SlimServer is a great addition to the 770-environment, thx for all the tips. One problem, though. I downloaded the SlimServer v6.2.1 from www.slimdevices.com, installed it, and everything was just fine. Unfortunately the Nokia770-skin wasn't included in that package, so I downloaded the 6.5 version, nightly build 28 Jan. Surprisingly, this one didn't work on my system. I uninstalled it, but made a copy of the Nokia770-skin. Then I reinstalled the working version, and copied the skin into the appropriate directory in the SlimServer-directory. Still no success with the Nokia770-skin

Obviously there's more to the business of skin installing than just copying the files - is the Nokia770-skin even compatible with the 6.2-version? Any help much appreciated. Otherwise the server runs great with the default skin.

Cheers,

Zup

The 6.2 skins are different (at least for the N770) than the 6.5 skins. The 6.2 skin isn't being developed any more and I couldn't find anywhere to download it. There is a link to a supposed working 6.5 version in one of the threads but I couldn't get it to work for me. I'm using 6.2, regular skin until 6.5 hits a stable version.

hi Zup,

i had same problem. 6.2 is working. 6.5 (daily build of 27.01.2006) not!
the server doesn't find the default skin... i tried many things, like manually copying the templates in the cache directory, but nothings works...

Try an earlier build of 6.5. I'm using the nightly from 01-14-2006 and it works fine.

So, it appears the none of the currently available 6.5 beta builds have the nokia 770 skin included.

Is there anywhere where we can separately download the skin?

Thanks in advance,
richard.

http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads...ly/latest/6.5/

I just downloaded the Mar 3 build and the Nokia770 skin is most definitely there.

I'm now in the process of adding AJAX functionality to the skin for a richer user experience. The 'now playing' page on the Nokia770 skin updates dynamically without a browser refresh, and soon I'll be enhancing the playlist page. The 770's Opera browser handles AJAX great.

cheers,
