Yes it works, if you don't update to 3.42 then you can use that tool to by passing it. You'll need to leave your computer on though

ok i finally did it, got the files to the root.. now i just get a blank screen on the TV after turning on and holding the eject... PLease Help..!!
btw, im ruuning ps3 firmware 3.15..does it matter?

This branch has a modified payload that adds peek and poke syscalls to the lv2 kernel. A userspace application can use these syscalls to dump out the entire memory space of the kernel, or patch the kernel as it is running. .
