Then i had installed the nitdroid using the auto installer package and slept .. waking up in the morning, I found out that the Nitdroid had successfully been installed and running.. but latter i found out that the overclocking is no longer available on Maemo .. I cant use the commands to overclock neither finds a way to reinstall the custom kernel using the "deinstall kernel" package and following this thread

http://wiki.maemo.org/Kernel_Power#Deinstallation

Although I had tried to manually deinstall the kernel and reinstalling it, but its not working now... Can nybody help me on this..

Regards
Having this same problem, i updated power kernel through app manager to version 40 i believe, and now i cannot use any kernel commands in x terminal i get the following message
This kernel version 2.6.28-omap1 is not supported, please make sure kernel power is installed and running.

Tried the reinstall command it gives, but it fails, have tried deinstalling the kernel and reinstalling but still doesnt work

Anyone else had this problem and solved it?

Sort of. Had this problem when I installed Nitdroid. Nitdroid installer is seriously buggy so I deinstalled and went back. Had to remove Nitdroid and everything else Nitdroid installer installed. Then reinstalled Power Kernel and rebooted. Took a few reboots then it sorted itself out.

Since installing the power kernel i get static bursts when different apps take control of the sound. So like if i am listening to music and i get an IM or SMS there is a bit of static (on built-in speakers) before the alert sound plays. Also, when i have external speakers plugged in to listen to music, the alert sounds do not come out of them. Instead they play on the built-in speakers. This is odd, because when i am in the car using the FM transmitter they play over the radio just fine with no static.

So to recap:
Headphones/Speakers plugged in = Static pop on built-in speakers and playing of IM/Chat alerts and sounds on built-in speakers.

No phones, just using built-in speakers = No static pop.
Using FM transmitter = no static pop, chat/IM sounds play through radio as expected.

However, even in the situations where there is no static and it opreates as expected it still isn't as smooth as it was when using the stock kernel.

Kernel is version 2.6.28meamo40
Happens at stock speeds and with speeds set to 125/600, 250/600, 500/600, and 550/750.

Using ULV profile. Have not yet tested on the LV profile.

Not had that....I'm running at 1ghz on ideal. Maybe you should switch?

I tried ideal as the first profile to try out. It rebooted on it's own in a fit of spazzims within moments of booting. Had sound issues and the cell radio stopped working. That was at stock speeds. Saw others on the boards mention that they had reboots from trying to run with too little power, so i switched to ULV and haven't had a random reboot yet. Aside from the weird sound glitch everything is going pretty well.

Hi just picked up a n900 was following a guide to overclock and install a custom kernel but when i select Enhanced linux kernel for power users (settings) from application manager it says there is conflicts with applications packages:

Kernel-modules-meamo
kernel-maemo
Kernel-modules-meamo
kernel-maemo

Anyone know how to fix this I've looked all over but can't seem to find the answer

I've switched my phone over to the LV profile with limits set to 125/900 (since according to kernel-config show this puts the DSP at 500 vs 430), and now i don't appear to be getting the static when testing with headphones (vs the speakers i have at work), but now it is playing the alert sound through both the headphones and through the external speakers. I don't mind this since it ensures you hear it if you have your ear buds out as well as if you have them in.

But it's interesting behavior that i thought you might want to look into. My guess is that it has to do with the DSP speeds.

Uuh... headache on at my end here. Reason why: I use a slightly modified ideal-profile, I made it go from 250MHz to 1GHz, thats all. But I suffer severe battery drain. About 1% per minute!
If I close all apps, let the device rest, and have a look at Conky, the device idles at 250MHz with about 3-5% load on the CPU and all 8-10 secs it upscales to 1000MHz for 2-4 secs with CPU load still around 4% and then back to 250MHz.
I dont have any special background daemons, watchdogs or services running. All apps closed. Where does that jumpy behavior come from?! Conkys graph also is completely level, no peaks or exceptional stress, just upscale to 1GHz and back again.... Any ideas?

I think i found a bug...
I am using kernel power and setting 37 version

When i set the custom voltage profile Min freq 125 and Max 256.
While using it i see cpu frequency going upto 500 everytime and keep jumping from 125 to 500. Otherwise if i fix other frequencies it follows the command properly.

Any suggestion how to avoid 500
I am checking the minimum voltage tolerable.

Another question If i decrease Zero frequency voltage how it is gonna affect the system. It is also confusing because Titan ideal profile does not have zero frequency supported and so no idea about its voltage
