Does the tablet have H.264? I thought that was the main problem, that the SIP client only has H.263 and H.263+, not H.264. Is H.264 higher quality or something?

I realize that you guys are talking about the web-based video chat from Google, but just so you know the video chat between two N810s work in GTalk/Jabber.

From a recent blog post regarding Gmail voice and video v1.0.10 update:

Lastly, thanks to everyone who has written in asking about support for Linux. We've had to rewrite a key piece of technology, so this has taken some time. However, the results will be worth the wait.
Just having good old-fashioned voice calls between tablets and GoogleTalk on Linux computers will be welcome, if long-overdue.

Later in the feedbacks the author adds:

FF 3.5 only includes a Theora decoder, not an encoder (which is needed for video chat).

That said, we will support additional codecs as needed to achieve interoperability.
This would indicate that also video calls between the (h263/h263+) tablets and PCs on any platform may eventually become a reality.
