Just got my N800. It shows 3.2007.10-7 as what I currently have.

It looks like 4.2007.26-8 seems to be the newest one.

How can I tell what is what. Is there a way to read these?

So new to this I am starting with the basic questions. I want to use Skype amd 8GB cards... so should/need I upgrade?

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking?

Apprently you used the CONTROLPANEL/ABOUT to find that you have 3.2007.10-7?

On the net you can get 4.2007.38-2 which has the latest SDHC patches. (SO your question: "Is there a way to read these" doesn't make sense to me. Read what?)

OK. How do I know what current firmware my system has? And what is the most current version available?

If you have a Windows PC, you can try running the Internet Tablet update wizard with your N800 attached to the PC. This will tell you both your tablet's firmware version and the latest firmware version, and give you the option of installing the firmware (or re-installing if the tablet already has the latest version).

Here's the page about it:

If you can't see a Skype logo anywhere in the apps menu (click the two white squares on the left), then you definitely need the new firmware.
