When I read this, It just confirmed my notion of Nokia as just not getting what they need to do to turn around their sinking ship. HTC is turning out top-notch phone after top-notch phone, they have become probably the most desired hardware manufacturer. A few years ago, most consumers didn't even know the name HTC.

So why is Nokia attacking them instead of taking some queues from them?

Go figure.

Please merge with the other threads:

http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?p=817011

And in fact it was the other way around.
HTC planned their event just weeks ago whereas the Nokia World was planned already for a year.
Why at the same time at the same city?
To gain more attendees because HTC wouldn't be able to gather such an audience as Nokia.

Inform before post.

Because aping a competitor is a sure fire road to failure. Be happy though, it means Nokia is taking your precious HTC seriously as a competitor.

Considering HTC sent busses up to the Nokia World site, snark-back isn't unwarranted. Or is Nokia somehow always wrong in what they do?

And yes, merge this thread too.

This made me chuckle.

The only thing HTC does that I would like Nokia to also do is stay out of software for the most part and concentrate on hardware. This appears to have been mostly accomplished with Meego being managed by the Linux Foundation and Nokia just putting their special spices on top (ala HTC Sense).

My god nokia just released 4 gorgeous handsets, better designed than anything htc/samsung offers. And for people who don't need a world class browser and thousands of apps symbian3 seems to be very capable. Compare that to android running on below 1Ghz processors, not a very pleasant experience. My next phone will likely be android (and meego in a year), but we are a bunch of freaks.

After seeing the phones that Nokia announced and the phones that HTC announced i'd say I like the style of the Nokia phones.

To each there own, My friend loves his evo and it suits him just perfectly.
Me, i'll get an e7, n8 or wait for the n9 and love it also.

What's up with people bringing Gizmodo and Engadget news over here all the time? It's like arguing Politics solely with a CNN web story. It sound ignorant and ridiculous.
