Do you have one or more questions? You could still ask. I haven't voted yet, so you could influence my vote.

Q: What role do you see our community playing regarding the development and perhaps maintenance of QT applications and development tools?
Although these QT apps may be eventually targeted for Symbian, MeeGo, or other OS's, it is my understanding that they first will be able to run on our N900's and concievably other Maemo devices.
I realize I could be way off base here (and it wouldn't be the first time) however; does anyone else see this as an opportunity for our community to remain viable in the short term and a possibility for the culture and methods that have developed here to evolve in the long term?

Would it be possible to include TMO user names for all the Council candidates on the wiki page where they give their position statements?

And I'll have a bash at answering!
I guess you're asking in what way you see folks around here getting involved in the development of parts of the platform, like Qt and the SDK (Qt Creator, etc) - personally, I feel we should try to be a part of that, as its our platform that this stuff affects.
Obviously, though, everyone wants to do their own things, so it's not going to be wholesale engagement by any means.
Q: Should we actively promote and advocate maemo.org as a "home base" for some of these QT developers in order to broaden our base?
Isn't that already happening naturally, and organically, to some extent? I know that personally at least I've seen a large (and constantly growing) number of Qt applications (& developers) floating around and playing with N900s.
To directly answer your question, though, I don't think that maemo.org should try to be yet another developer documentation/homebase (though especially thanks to Qt on Maemo5, we already have a bit of this..), there's already too many of these around (in various stages of germination): MeeGo has plans for one, Qt has one (developer.qt.nokia.com), and there's also Forum Nokia and other Qt-centric places like QtCenter.
i just received an email from Maemo Council that I am eligible to vote. such a great pleasure.
if i did help you, just click "Thanks" on the lower right of my post. thanks!
