I used to be able to tether my RAZR. Came back from a trip abroad and no dice. Just looked at Tools - Control Panel - Connectivity - Connections

Perhaps my settings are f'd up. Name and GPRS are obviously correct...but the next screen had "proxy" as the Access point name. I changed that to wap.voicestream.com and the dial-up number is *99***1#

I don't know what else to do. Surely its something simple and I'm just not seeing it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And yes I did turn both devices on and off...I wish it were that easy...

If you're on AT&T, you shouldn't be using voicestream. Change that to wap.cingular.

If you are using a cingular wap:

GPRS Access point should be: wap.cingular
Username WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1

Yea, voicestream is T-Mobile. But the phone number does not look right. Use *99# or *99***3# and wap@cingular.com

This is in my control panel/connections
Access point name: wap.cingular
Dialup number: *99#
User name: WAP@CINGULAR.COM
Password: (leave blank)

Thats my setting exactly, case and all. And I have a RAZR V3xx with a N800

Daymeansday, I also have a RAZR V3 from AT&T, and I'm curious--how much do you pay for your data plan? Are you able to tether the N800 without getting charged a small fortune in data transfer fees or buying an $80-a-month tethering plan? Please enlighten me!

24 usd a month using the Mediamax plan. Just like others said here, don't abuse it and 24 is all you pay a month. Search threads here and at howardforums.com. 80 seems high, you might as well get the card/laptop plan for 65.

I am trying to use my Nokia N800 to connect to the internet thru the bluetooth of my Sony Ericsson W580i on AT&T wireless network.
I have the MEDIA MAX unlimited data plan

My Connection settings are as follows:
Access point name: wap.cingular
Dial-up number: *99***1#
Username: WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1

I get Internet connection failed message.

Tried *99# and no password, still no go.
Any one have any ideas?
