The N900 binary is here:

Note it does not play audio, but does allow you to use it to control squeezeboxes nicely. See my posts in this thread on how to change the screen size and create a shortcut.

Does anyone know if progress has been made on getting audio working on the N900?

Just an update to this. Now that rootsh has been deprecated, you need to change the line
Code:
Exec=rootsh /opt/squeezeplay/bin/squeezeplay.sh
to

Code:
Exec=sudo /opt/squeezeplay/bin/squeezeplay.sh
And also create a file called squeezeplay.sudoers in /etc/sudoers.d/ which contains:

Code:
users ALL = NOPASSWD: /opt/squeezeplay/bin/squeezeplay.sh
then run the command
Code:
update-sudoers

done, lovely mate.
now how about a tidy skin, have streched it to 800x400 but if you take a look at the squeezeplay releases for the joggler, which has same size screen, the skin is tweaked and nice, how could we get it on here, is it as simple as dropping the skin folder in the right directory

Thank you all for the all the effort put into this. Squeezeplay is running perfectly on my N900.

I did have to change one thing to get the icon in the menu to work. The program seemed to start but then cut out.

When I used the "sudo /opt/squeezeplay/bin/squeezeplay.sh" in the X-Terminal it asked for a password, but it didn't if I left out the "sudo" and just ran the program. So I changed the line in the 'squeezeplay.desktop' file to:

Code:
Exec=/opt/squeezeplay/bin/squeezeplay.sh
And Presto! Me happy

Haven't figured out what caused it though and that's bugging me slightly, but I'm relatively new to maemo/linux.

have been playing around and have a new skin which makes better use of the screen real estate, its from a squeezeplay for joggler.
just replace the WQVGAsmallSkin folder in /home/opt/squeezeplay/share/jive/applettes
the only thing left is to make the writing on the now playing screen appear higher, i cant find where to do it, can anyone help?
