Not sure how they're going to work this one out.

I'm not a developer myself, but from what I can tell from all the different O/Ss out there, they're probably going to have their work cut out bringing all the key players along side.

"In particular he refers to the "big bear in the room" - ***** - who have yet to subscribe in any meaningful way to similar efforts.

"If ***** don't come to the table, you're eliminating yourself from one of the fastest growing manufacturers in the world," he told BBC News."

***** begins with "A".

Be interesting to hear some views from actual developers.

Isn't this what Java is supposed to be, and for most part is?

True. But I was led to believe that the "big bear in the room" didn't support Java.

I remember Sun having a bit of a scrap to get it ported/supported.
