Why is the Nokia E7 codenamed N9 on websites?

Well, there were leaked images of the 'N9' on the web and people were getting excited.. But then it turned out, that the device is not the 'N9' but the 'E7'.E7 was officially announced during Nokia World 2010.

E7 doesn't run Meego or Maemo.. It runs Symbian.. But either way the specs are niceeee...

Well the successor of the N900 should be nice-er tho

I believe for now it's only n9 pictures and rumored specs, I think the sites are just outdated on their information, there was a lot of confusion before the e7 was announced

The N9 doesn't have a physical "menu button" on the front. The E7 has.

Honestly, I think both phones are sexy.

Def looking forward to the n9 just to see what meego is gonna be.

I agreed.. the lack of physical button is killing me sometimes.

If not physical please just add capacitive touch buttons!

after giving us this nice keyboard e7... what if... n9 doesnt have a slide-out keyboard...
