Some practical Flash 9.4 questions (please)

1. Do a lot of the Flash games play well on sites such as Addicting Games.com? Examples are the arcade and Scorched Earth type games.

2. Do the games zoom to full screen or do they stay in a window? Since a lot of games are in a small window on a desktop display, they would be super micro teeny on a 3.5" display. The Archos 5 (last year's version) plays Flash games in full screen, which is nice (but only using Flash 8). Advantage is no browser overhead when just running the game.

3. Since the browser is Firefox, will we be able to save Flash games and play them off line if we want? There are a few Firefox plug-ins that allow this. Just save as swf and click & run when you want.

If we can play the Flash games well with the N900, most of us will be fine for impulse games for a looooong time.

I can't answer for the N900, but I will say that many simple Flash games work on the N810. The N900 will have a faster processor, so performance will be less of a limiting factor. However, some games have action associated with mouse hovering and this is a fail on a touchscreen device. Also, some games require fast keyboard usage that may be hard on a mobile device. I have no doubt that you will be able to download them (although you may need a hacker method to do so) and play them either in the browser or a third-party app.

I've only tried this once or twice, but here's what I've seen.

1. Some do, some don't. Kitten Cannon runs pretty well and that's about all I can say.

2+ 3. If you download the .swf and run it through a bookmark or through file manager, it opens up in Maemo Browser full screen.

Hi,
I checked my n900 flash version and it says 9.0.2.... I thought that it's supposed to be 9.4 since it was written everywhere. How could I install it? I can't even watch videos on facebook someothers can play farmvillie? I would be very happy if you could help me. Thanks a lot

fi7xer, you need the tweaker flash version thingy from the repos. Once you've installed that, you'll be able to trick the websites into thinking that you've got flash 10 installed.

This only works on certain websites but definitely lets you play the videos and farmville on FBook although the latter is very very slow and laggy.

Thank You

Thank you orion88freedom, I'll try it but I'm also wondering that isn't a normal n900's flash version 9.4? my devices version is 10.201019-1.203.1 this must be the lastest version. So why does some sites which checks flash version says mine is 9.0.2.... is your devices flash player 9.4? if it is so how were you abe to update? thanks a lot

Oh yeah, I remember now. When you install the tweaker flash thingy, it does initially tell you what you've got installed.....I had the same as yours.....
