No, as far as we know at the moment the N9 will run the first version of MeeGo. Also known as Maemo 6 / Harmattan.

whats the big deal with meego anyways? You would only be stuck in a QT only based linux OS that is hackable. Just like droid which runs only on java environment. Maemo is still the best. Nothing beats gtk + hildon + QT.

Because Qt is C/C++ and natively compiled, using a standard glibc base with X and a lot of APIs commonly found in most Linux distributions. Hell they're getting rid of Busybox in favor of a standard Gnu user space.

Android uses a pseudo-Java bytecode and provides zero compatibility with existing open source technologies that are found in most Linux distributions today.

Your GTK applications will still be able to run on MeeGo. They never have been, and will continue to not be, able to run on Android. MeeGo and Android are nothing alike.

yeah i know... I was comparing maemo which supports gtk, hildon and qt. While meego runs only on QT. GTK apps won't directly run in meego but meego apps since its QT based will be backwards compatible with maemo.

The N9 should be able to rape and pillage GTK multi-touch from Ubuntu 10.10 armv7.

How about disassemble it and reattach any loose parts? If there's no visible crack (I guess) then the screen would not be damaged this way. I guess the screen was just loosing from its connector. Since the warrant isn't covered anyway, it worths a try: http://www.nokian900applications.com...0-in-48-steps/

I found one screen here: http://cgi.ebay.in/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...#ht_965wt_1138

Don't know if it would work or not though.

Another idea for testing that it works is to connect to it by ssh (you did install OpenSSH, didn't you!!) and then run x11vnc. You can then remote control all of the N900 from your desktop by vnc.
